birthday...

September 1st, its my birthday today.

And boy, what a great way to celebrate this day. It was truly one of the best birthdays I've had in like, 5 years maybe? All these years, somehow or rather there would be something to disrupt and make my birthday a lil disturbing. But I don't think I'll get into that. The main point is, I had a great birthday this year.

Everything started last weekend, when I graduated with first class honors. That was already a blast. Then came this weekend. Emerge.

Emerge was awesome.

The awesomeness of the stage.

Friday was the day when we had to do our POS stuff. It was pretty hectic, have to bring our stuffs from church to Sunway Convention Center, rehearsal, doing make up... yes, I did applied some make up. Only mousturiser, the base thing (which I have no idea what is it), and foundation. Apparently it is to make my face brighter and let the light on stage bounce off my face. I really don't understand this. To me, light can actually bounce off anything! Why need make up? Still don't understand. After preparing ourselves, we did our thing. It was great. Normally our stunts fumble here and there, but on that day, everything went up in perfect timing. But the best part is this, not only did MINT's POS team did everything well, so did other clusters. Now that's awesome. God's grace was indeed upon us all. We did everything well, and I really hope God's glory was shown thru our POS presentation.

Saturday was my free day, I thought of checking out the talentime, but my dearest wanted me to be there with her. You see, she was the runner (to assist) the participants of beauty pageant and manhunt. So I was there. Finally, the runner job came to me, I was really, actually, indeed the 'run'-ner for them. I ran up and down ta-pau-ing food for the make up artists, the hair stylist and the participants. If I'm not mistaken, I think I went to Giant once, and Mcd like, 5 times. Yes, 5 times in less than 3 hours. But I think it is really great. I get to help out in Emerge. I guess that's the best part. Being part of Emerge. Also, I get to stay in a room full of pretty girls. Wahahhaahaha! Oh and by the way, here's our Ms Emerge 2007.

Then came Sunday, went for Sunday service, attend the grooming workshop, and the grand finale. The grooming workshop was awesome. I didn't know there were so many things to know just to present yourself to people. Your hair, the way you stand, by the way, did you know, for a man, you should stand with your legs open big? And not just one feet apart?

By standing this way, you give people the impression you are confused whether you are male or female! So for males, we must stand like this:

Macho man!

Don't ask me man. This is taught by a professional. But there were indeed a lot of things that can be learned. I'm not gonna exposed anything here. Go to Asian Conference 2008 in Singapore end of this year for the workshop. Wahahahaha
So after the workshop, was the grand finale. That is when we would know who will win POS, and the overall cluster champion. And guess what, MINT won both! (yes, I know it was not tough to guess la... ) It was really great. What a way to really start of my birthday at twelve midnight. So I thought, we've won, it's a great thing, it's gonna be great to celebrate with the gf, but mana tau she was upset! Wah, spoilt my mood man. Our conversation:

me: dear, what happened?
her: nothing, you go take photos with them la.
me: dear, i know there's something wrong. Tell me la. (I mean, she was showing black face, it was obvious she was upset with something)
her: nothing, you go take photos with them la.
me: dear....(about to say something else)
her: you go la... faster....
me: ....................... okie.................

I was wondering, why happy happy she so upset la? I kept wanting to accompany her since she's upset, but she kept chasing me away to take photos with the group. And she really did chase me away! So what to do, go take photos loh. Then while taking photos on stage, suddenly, a birthday cake came. Wah I tell you, Esther did made the right choice to cast her for the lead in the upcoming production. She can really act! She was acting upset to surprise me! And I bought the bait! Wahh... malu man.. but it was really great. I was shocked, I was so happy. She's so sweet to plan this with the POS team. And crap, I just realised I don't have a photo of the cake. Hopefully someone else has.

But all in all, it was awesome. Not to forget Ps. Kong's msg was great. He's really daring and dare to touch things many would prefer not to. Things so controversial, yet true, and he's not afraid to offend people. He just want to get God's message across. And I really respect that of Ps. Kong.

So basically this is to sum up why my birthday this year was a blast:
1. I got first class honors.
2. We won POS.
3. We won overall cluster champion.
4. Emerge was really awesome.
5. Last but not least, she was really sweet.
